Whats up?

Yesterday I had my roller skate dance class. After the class some of the students stayed and rolled around the rink.

I practiced some of the dance moves we learned while trying not to feel self-conscious. Maybe thats a muscle I need to work out. The "focus on what you're doing and not what people think of you because they're probably not looking at you," muscle.

After some tries and failures I rolled around the rink. I thought about what my dad said when I told him I joined this class. He said this is good because we'll have a roller rink near by the tiny home community.

I'm not really sure how helpful this class is for that unless I become a roller skate teacher or something.

My mind likes to jump around-I think I need to try to talk to people in my class. I've had some opportunities to talk to a few of them, but that slight second where they could acknowledge me but decide to ignore me, keeps my mouth shut. Of course they could be thinking the same about me, which is why I don't take it personally. And I shouldn't give up because of that.

For the next class I'm going to try to talk to one person. Even if it is just a sentence. I need to also work that social skill of mine more.

Oh! I saw this video yesterday!

I was feeling stuck after watching some other videos on successful people, and decided to look up "How to make a Tiny Home Community." This video popped up and I was surprised!

This guy...sorry I don't remember his name if they mentioned it - this guy started making a tiny home community in Tennessee. He has this women as his cameraman, and they started working on it last year.

The set up to their story, the people here and their situation are all the things my dad, bro and I are trying to do!

This guy even said he wants to open up a community in California - that's what we're working on right now!

Watching this guy, I kept thinking, "What did he do right?" I also kept thinking, "We need to hurry!!!!!" ヽ(#゚Д゚)ノ !!(ノ*゚Д゚)ノ Σ(°Д°;≡;°д°) If we don't buy the land soon, this dude will make it seem like we're copying him. My dad has been planning all the details since 2019 (or maybe earlier?).

I sent the video to my dad and the guys we'll be working with on the community. After a while they said "Thanks!" and that's it. I was thinking, "Did you guys not watch it?!" I later brought it up to my dad and he said with his usual smile, "Thanks for sharing it with us Emel." I said with a serious face," Did you watch all of it? This guy built a community during 2020..." (when my dad and I wanted to start building, "...he was able to get funding from people..." (we failed at getting fully funded,"...he wants to build a beach, have lots of trees, lights around the community and a farm..." (the things my dad wants to put in our community), "...and he wants to build another one in California!"

This got my dad's attention. "We need to hurry then...If we ever get the money before they [the people we're working with] buy the land, we're doing it. We're not waiting."

At this point that's if somehow we get enough money for it.

We'll see...I'm praying. We might have to try again on Kickstarter or something to try getting funded again.

We have no choice but to keep trying.

I hope you're past two days have been going well.

Best,

Emel

Wow, we're already up to the 11th Bored Blog.

Youtube recommended me this video today.

I was bored so I watched it. The guy, Jeven Dovey, talked about the basics of telling a story (which I already knew). But then he put story telling in every day life. How we tell our friends, family or anyone a story of something that happened to us.

For a while I kind of knew I'm not very good at telling a story of something that happened to me. I'm much better at writing stories than telling them.

After watching this dude, Jeven, I realized why the stories I tell people aren't that great. It's because I don't give them some background information. Though there are some people where I don't want to talk about myself too much to. I usually give them a one to two sentence summary of what I've been doing.

I also don't like telling a story over and over again. It makes the story for myself boring! But if I keep practicing telling people my stories, it would help me improve on my story telling skills.

Jeven also says later in the video to watch and read lots of stories.

To me that's funny because I keep hearing from very successful people like Tony Robbins and Sorelle Amore to not watch TV shows or movies. It kills a lot of your time. Time that you can use for other things.

And I'm sitting here as a filmmaker thinking, "But...I need to watch them. I need them to learn." Part of me thinks, "Hahaha. I have an excuse," while the other part of me thinks, "What am I doing with my life? Sitting around consuming videos all of the time."

Oooooh, and reading. People like Toney Robbins talk about reading a lot. The more you read, the more you know. Which makes me think, "So, manga and webcomics count too right??"

I really want to ask Mr. Robbins if they do. It's not that I've been reading them lately, but I do love reading them. Plus they're free.

Maybe I just need some kind of balance for how much I watch, and what types of things I read.

Hayao Miyazaki is an animator, but he doesn't watch many films or anime. He reads and travels to different places. And his work is loved by soooooo many people.

Who knows, maybe I'm fine the way I am. As long as I keep learning in some way, shape or form, that's good enough.

Best,

Emel

Ever since this morning, it's been pretty cloudy out. I thought it was some kind of mist, but my sister said it's smoke from the fires in Organ...Smoke? Smoke coming from the other side of the country?!!

That's crazy.

These fires need to stop. Just stop it. Stop everything that's bringing this country down.

Besides that, I...spent my day on Netflix...BUT it was to remember what happened in the show so I can watch the new season with my friend. Other than that I haven't been on Netflix that much. As for Youtube, I haven't been watching as much from there either.

So far I have 7 short videos of the homeless women talking about their lives, so far. I think I have 8 more videos to edit. I hope to finish all of them by the end of this week.

Once that's finished, I'll get back to editing the Tiny Home video. I think it would be my first feature film. The longest film I've edited became 43 minutes.

I know my blogs are getting shorter and shorter. Not a lot has been happening, but I'm trying to be consistent with Bored Blog by writing everyday. So Im thinking there might be days when I write a sentence or two.

I hope the air is good where you are.

Best,

Emel
